RÖMERMUSEUM (ROMAN MUSEUM)
The Roman Museum exhibits the foundations of Fort Boiodurum, uncovered during archaeological excavations in 1974.
Housed in an old medieval building opposite Passau's old town on the banks of the River Inn, this Roman museum exhibits the foundations of Fort Boiodurum, uncovered during archaeological excavations in 1974. The exhibits range from the Mesolithic period to the fall of the Roman Empire. In Roman times, Passau was an "oppidum", a fortified Roman town, and was located on the border between the Roman and "barbarian" worlds.
