The Diocesan Museum is located in the magnificent Neue Bischofsresidenz, the new bishops' residence built between 1712 and 1730 by Prince-Bishop Johan Philipp von Lamberg. Below, the spiral staircase by Giovanni Battista Carlone, paintings and numerous works of art ranging from Romanesque to Gothic to Baroque. On the first floor, the former episcopal library containing the most beautiful works is also open to visitors.
