EGIDIENKIRCHE (CHURCH OF ST. GILLES)
The St. Egidien Church is a beautiful, rather sober and incredibly bright baroque church.
In a square of the same name stands this beautiful church, the only one in the baroque style in a town with so many medieval churches. It was built on the site of a convent of Irish and Scottish Benedictine monks, the remains of which can be found in the beautiful Eucharist Chapel on the south side. Its baroque nave and choir, all decorated in white, are worth a visit for the very clear light that is reflected there. Baroque, without the usual pomp, it is a beautiful church.
