FORMER NUREMBERG TOWN HALL
The old town hall bears witness to the power of Nuremberg's patricians as a free city of the Empire.
The interior of this old building, built between 1616 and 1622, is in the Renaissance style. Its façade is a reminder of the oligarchic power of the Council of the Free City of the Empire, which was Nuremberg. Once there, it is possible to visit the dungeons dating from the Middle Ages with their tiny cells and, as the icing on the cake, the torture chamber which offers a good insight into the somewhat barbaric customs of the time!
