This very large museum, which opened its doors to the public in 2000, is impressive for its ultra-contemporary architecture made of large concrete volumes and gigantic glass openings. The Neues Museum presents a collection of contemporary art: figurative and abstract painting (including a room devoted to Gerhard Richter), but also photographs and installations (from the post-war period to the present day). In its temporary exhibitions on the ground and first floors, the museum explores the links between art and design.
