BACHWOCHE ANSBACH
Every two years in July, the town of Ansbach pays tribute to the great composer Johann Sebastian Bach for a week.
Since 1948, the town of Ansbach has paid tribute to Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) and his music. The festival takes place every year around July 28, the anniversary of the great master's death. Listening to works by Bach and other famous composers of his time in the baroque setting of Ansbach's old town is a divine pleasure. There are several venues in Ansbach's old town, including the sumptuous festival hall of the margraves' residence, the orangery and the St. Gumbertus church.
