ALTSTADT (OLD TOWN)
The old town of Dinkelsbühl has preserved part of its fortifications and many medieval towers and gates.
It is essentially composed of the Weinmarkt square, the wine market and its Renaissance style buildings, the Ratsherrntrinkstube which today houses the tourist office, the Hetzelhof, the Deutsches Haus which has the most beautiful facade in the city, the Schranne which was a former granary, the St. George's Cathedral, a very beautiful church from the late Gothic period with its magnificent Sebastiansaltar or altar of Sebastian which dates from 1520, the Spitalanlage with its Spitalhof, a former hospital built in 1280 with its court.
