ST.-JAKOBSKIRCHE
Medieval Gothic church in Rothenburg ob der Tauber featuring stained glass windows and an altar with the 12 apostles.
The Gothic church of Saint-Jacques dates from the Middle Ages. Inside, its 14th century stained glass windows filter the light and reflect it in a multitude of colours that give an impression of warmth and majesty. A small curiosity on the altar of the 12 apostles: to the right of Jesus, Saint Peter is wearing reading glasses! Also worth seeing: the chapel built as a bridge over the Klingengasse to the west of the nave: its wooden altar was sculpted by Tilman Riemenschneider. It is said to contain a relic containing a few drops of Christ's blood.
