COBURG JACKET
A medieval fortress on the heights of Coburg which houses an art collection.
This medieval fortress was chosen as the location for the Kunstsammlungen (art collections). In the Veste Coburg, works by Dürer and Rembrandt are on display for the general public. This place is also full of history since Martin Luther, initiator of the Protestant Reformation, took refuge here in 1530 after being banished from the Empire. He stayed there for about 6 months, a solution that allowed him to stay alive and continue his work with determination. You can also visit the castle courtyard without visiting the museum.
