After its fire in 1848, Rödental spent four years restoring the district to its former glory.
First mentioned in 1162, the district no longer has its medieval appearance, having been completely redeveloped after a fire in 1848. Completely renovated in the 1980s, it had been in danger of disappearing for decades due to lack of maintenance. Rödental spent four years (1984-1988) restoring it to its former glory. Very pleasant to walk around in summer, even if you don't want to spend hours on it. There's also a beer garden.
