A few houses in Victorian style and many cement houses make up this oldest district in Aden. It is nice to walk in the middle of the afternoon and in the evening in the small shopping streets between Esplanade Road and Monastery Road. It shows the Djibouti of Djibouti who sell on the sidewalk of bohor or fine cotton, there are boutiques shops (honey cake mixed with butter and perfumed to saffron - the specialty of Aden), merchants of fabric, electronic equipment, shops where the tombul sells, the betelnut introduced by the Indians in the time of British colonization.
