GARE ROUTIÈRE NORD

From the city center, songtheos (shared cabs) and tuk-tuk (30,000 kips per person) drop travelers off at the northern bus station on Sithong Street behind the airport. From there buses leave for the northern cities (beyond Vang Vieng) and China.

Luang Prabang. Air-conditioned bus: frequent daily departures (count 100,000 kips and 150,000 kips for a VIP, travel time: 11 hours). On this winding road, traffic is often disrupted during rainy periods. Buses pass through Vang Vieng, but not all stop there.
