The BFL (Banque Franco-Lao) was created in 2008 thanks to an agreement between French bank BRED Banque Populaire and first bank of Laos, the BCEL. It offers its visitors a currency exchange, VISA ATMs, the possibility for non-residents to open accounts, free BFL withdrawal cards, internet access to accounts (see conditions in agency), a safe. For BRED Banque Populaire clients who have internet access to their account, an exclusive service of money transfer named E-Transfer Express allows transfers up to € 6000 per transfer (capped at € 12000 per month) for only € 5. The transfer can be performed on the same day even if the request has been made before 12.00 p.m, (Paris time), otherwise the transfer will be made the next day.
