Located before the airport, this vat is interesting to visit for the murals that adorn the sim. Two 65 m strips illustrate the epic of the Ramayana (Phra Lak Phra Lam, in Lao). They were painted in 1938 by Thit Phanh, a young novice artist; in thirteen days he completed the thirty-four frescoes still visible today. There are some amusing anachronisms, including an airplane perhaps drawn by a young monk under the spell of exaltation. If the sim's doors are closed, ask a monk to open them for you.
