The Puang Champa House of Culture was established by Prince Nithakhong Somsanith, in his small wooden house on stilts, to introduce the general public to the traditional arts he practised at court in his youth, including gold thread embroidery. Classical Laotian dance and music are also taught there. The project, financially supported by the Lao Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., provides local artists with sustainable income and helps preserve the cultural heritage of Luang Prabang.
