4 km southwest of the airport, the south bus station serves Pak Lai and Hong Sa.

To Pak Lai. Count 60,000 kips for a 4.5 hour trip in songtheo, 140 km in total, on a dusty road with some asphalt sections (bus is recommended rather than songtheo). Departure 7h30, 9h30, 12h and 14h. From December to February, the morning is foggy and very cool in the region: bring quite warm clothes (at least a windbreaker, a scarf and good socks)

To Hong Sa. In Songtheo, count 80 000 kips for 5 hours of travel.
