VAT SISAVANGVONG
The Wat Sisavangvong, located opposite the governor's building, is said to have been the work of the king, whose name it bears, and to have been built on the site of an ancient temple that has now disappeared. The staircase is protected by two large nagas, we also note the presence of statues of tigers, which they protect the Earth. It is a privilege for novices to come and study in this temple as few are allowed. Legend has it that the novices must present their gold to the nagas before being definitively accepted at the monastery by the resident monks.
