One of the main Buddhist places of worship in the city is only worth a short visit. It is built on a mound, not far from the second bridge over the Nam Phak River. The first Indochina war was fatal to this vat which was completely devastated in 1954. The inhabitants of the city rebuilt it in 1997 with a major addition: the Tree of Life. This artificial structure is curious, with metal leaves and animals hanging from the branches.
