This village, built by missionaries in the early 1900s on the shores of Lake Bangweulu, has a large brick church, built in 1905, as well as many religious and educational facilities, mixed with traditional homes and businesses. Lubwe hosts the traditional Kwanga ceremony of the Ngumbo people every October and is about an hour's drive from Samfya. To get there, take the track along the lake from the D235 junction on the Mansa road or at the Serenje exit.
