Initiated in 2003 by pianist Kit Young and his colleagues, the Gitameit project, "Friends of Music", is an admirable non-profit initiative to bring music lovers together. Classes in traditional and modern music are given to Burmese students, some of whom receive scholarships to study abroad. Numerous concerts are held regularly. Go there on Fridays around 2pm, when the students rehearse. If you are a musician and have a little desire for a jam session don't hesitate!
