From the south entrance of Shwedagon, you can take a bridge to walk to this other pagoda. Built on the orders of Ne Win in the 1980s in honour of reunified Theravada Buddhism in Burma, it also has a hollow interior. As you walk along the walkway, you can see beautiful wood carvings.
Ne Win's participation in the construction should not be overestimated: the relics here were graciously donated by the King of Nepal, while the construction was financed by donations from the population.
