LITTLE BAGAN
To the north of Hsipaw, just across the small arm of the river spanned by a bridge, lies the district known as "Little Bagan". This is the historic Hsipaw, now moved south, but there is an interesting concentration of old pagodas and teak monasteries. And on the right after the bridge: the Shan Palace, a prestigious place for the inhabitants of the region. Finally, you will find here and there small workshops producing for some people noodles, others candles or cheroots, the famous Burmese cigars. Not to be missed.
