This is the direction all treks go in. And that's where you'll go if you go by car. If you take the Mandalay road, which runs along the river on its left, choose the paths on the right, and go into the shan villages. Authenticity guaranteed. There are two beautiful waterfalls, monasteries and pagodas. You can continue on the road to Mandalay to the very interesting pagoda of Bawgyo, about 8 km west of Hsipaw, a high place of the Shan people.
