Not far from the U-bein bridge, often very popular with tourists, the Taung Mingyi pagoda is often the forgotten part of the walk. And that's precisely why it's so pleasant. For its contemplative calm. This image of Buddha dominates the lake from its 14 meters. It was built in brick by King Bodawpaya in 1786. Since the end of the last century, and thanks to the gift of a Burmese lady who won the lottery, the statue has been covered. Once again, this shows how devoted the Burmese people are to Buddhism and its temples.
