Thatbyinnyu was built by Alaungsithu. The pagoda is an imposing 67-metre high building, the highest in the whole site. It is composed of two enormous cubes superimposed. On the upper floor is a picture of the seated Buddha. To the southwest of the temple, within the monastery enclosure, two large stone pillars carried a bell that no longer exists today. She too was a victim of the 2016 earthquake... Like the more recent temples, the pagoda has four statues of Buddha at the four cardinal points.
