If the Shwesandaw pagoda looks like the famous Shwezigon of Bagan, you still have hundreds of kilometres to go before reaching the Bagan Plain. In this pagoda are enshrined relics of Buddha, four hairs of the holy man. You reach the upper platform of the building by a popular lift and admire the view of the Prome region from the terrace. You can also see a giant Buddha, known as "Sehtagyi", who can be seen from the top of its nine floors, as indicated by the translation of his Burmese name.
