The Four Giant Buddhas, or Kyaik Pun, are also due to Dhammazedi. They can be seen from the road leading to Yangon. Stars of many postcards, the colossuses, 30 meters high, are leaning against a central pillar. The whole is built in brick and dates from 1476. Regularly repainted, it looks brand new despite the lack of protection. It is absolutely necessary to preserve the kitsch of the statues. On the outskirts of the Kyaik Pun site, one can find hardwood carving workshops, one of the specialties of Bago.
