KYAIKMARAW PAGODA

Nestled on the heights of the city, the Kyaikmaraw pagoda offers an extraordinary view, once you reach the top, on the hills of Moulmein, or Mawlamyine. If it does not represent any particular signs, the pagoda is very beautiful. It houses various statues of Buddhas, including a representation, not very canonical, of a sitting Buddha in the western style, of which there are various examples in Burma. You have to come here for the sunset when the lights are falling and give way to a delicate play of shadows between the river and the mountains.
