If you have your heart set on a small cultural outing, now is the time to set off on a discovery of a museum in Sittwe called the Buddhist Museum. During a short visit, you will discover a multitude of Rakhine Buddhas, all decorated with rich royal ornaments, which makes them very different from all the other Buddhas represented in the rest of Burma. The collection is quite extensive. It also includes a few Buddha statues from neighbouring countries, mainly India and Thailand.
