Canala is a small town in the Collectivité d'outre-mer region of New Caledonia. Covering an area of 438.7 km², it has a population of around 3,701. Surrounded by the communes of Sarraméa, Houaïlou and Thio, Canala lies 18 km northeast of Sarraméa, the largest town in the area. The town lies at an altitude of 30 meters above sea level and is run by Gilbert TYUIENON, Mayor of Canala since 2020.
