This is another must-see place from the days when the city was called Kristiania. The restaurant, with its exposed beams and faded frescoes (the building dates back to 1641 and is the oldest restaurant in the city), occupies the former town hall from which it takes its name. The menu includes traditional dishes such as lamb chops, fish soup, wild mushroom risotto, lutefisk and good desserts such as aquavit and wild berry parfait or apple financier. Charming terrace in summer.
