There are only 3 boats in this very sober museum, but what wonders! They were found in Tune, Gokstad and Oseberg in the excavations of Tune, Gokstad and Oseberg. They transported Vikings banned in Iceland and Greenland, crossed the North Sea to America for a failed settlement attempt, entering the Mediterranean to Istanbul to trade or to carry out bloody raids. The Bateau boat, the largest and best preserved, was the tomb of a Viking queen. The objects exhumed are entirely unique, such as these terrifying heads of stylised dragon dragon, this astonishing seal adorned by a Buddha attesting to trade with Asian peoples and this richly carved trolley with a Gunnar representation in the snake pit, which is no other than Wagner's «Günther du Ring» (inspired by ancient Nordic legends).

Joli petit musée
Joli petit musée, exposition de grands bateaux vikings, objets et textiles de cette époque. Visite qui se fait rapidement mais qui est très intéressante ! A faire pendant un séjour à Oslo. De plus, musée accessible en bus de ville facilement !

Des hommes et des bateaux
Juste au dehors de la ville, on peut y arriver en bus numéro 30. Il abrite deux magnifiques bateaux viching parfaitement rebâtis (les photos exposées on peut voir la façon où les archéologues les ont trouvés)et un troisième dont il ne reste que la quille. Ces bateaux ont été utilisés pour la dernière fois comme sépulture . On peut aussi admirer des chariots sculptés : ça vaut la peine!

petit musée par la taille mais pas par la richesse. les drakkars présentés, plus ou moins en bon état, permettent de se rendre compte de la taille de ce bateau mythique des vikings. musée bien pensé avec des escaliers permettant d'accéder à des plateformes pour avoir une vision de l'intérieur des drakkars.
