It is the4th largest ecomuseum in Norway. Valdres Folkemuseum was founded in 1901 and the first buildings of the "collection" were erected in 1906 in Fagernes. In 1917 the museum was moved to the peninsula of Storøya next to Fagernes. Later, in 1950, the museum leased the rest of the island and today comprises a large area. The museum has 95 buildings and about 20 000 objects. Very nice interactive tour. Great for kids. Coffee.
