Opened in 1897 and kept with care and know-how to enhance the old construction techniques implemented, this hotel is sumptuous. The Gaukstadstugu, one of Norway's best preserved th century timber residences, is worth a visit. Just like the hotel restaurant. This establishment is held by one of Norway's best cooks, Arne Brimi, who has made his classes at Bocuse in Lyon. For the preparation of natural products, 6 cooks and 3 apprentices are on site. Their delicious orange sherbet with orange and yoghurt orange is a delight.
