As in Skien, one can leave from Dalen to discover the Telemark Canal dug at the end of the 19th century, in order to connect the interior of the country to the coast. On 105 km, between Skien and Dalen, you can discover this artificial waterway, by kayak, by very nice boat with this local company (on the M/S Victoria or M/S Henrik Ibsen for example) or even by bike. Round trips are possible, with or without overnight stay on the way, in recommended hotels. If you choose the one-way trip, you can return by bus to pick up your car.
