In the Eiganes district, a little way from the centre, it is a 19th century residence of neoclassical architecture with, inside, a heterogeneous mixture of Rococo, Empire and Biedermeier styles. It was built between 1799 and 1803 for the Kielland family as a summer residence. In 1936 the city of Stavanger took over the house and turned it into a museum. Temporary exhibitions and events are held on a regular basis. Large and beautiful collection of paintings, the oldest dating from 1710. Beautiful park.
