Zona Hippos is Managua's new pink district, where students go to party on weekends (it's not far from the UCA university center, by the way). Until recently, the area was a very quiet residential zone, but in recent years, after numerous hotels and hostels opened there, a multitude of bars and restaurants have taken over. The atmosphere is lively. Particularly noteworthy are the Ron Kon Rola, El Garabato, Fadó Irish Pub and Overtime Sports Bar.
