A miniature reconstruction of the city center before the 1972 earthquake, Paseo Xolotlán opened in 2014 and has become one of Managua's major tourist attractions. It's well worth a visit to gain a better understanding of the capital's past. If you're traveling with the family, it's sure to please the kids too. Note that the re-enactments are presented in the open air (near the lake), and that visiting at night is very popular, as the atmosphere that emanates from the re-enactments is even more striking.
