Built between 1624 and 1626 by Fray Benito de Baltodano. Located at the entrance to the city from the port, its situation was strategic at the time of the colony; in fact, it was perpetually prey to the greed of the pirates and the buccaneers. In November 1856, Walker's troops were besieged for 18 days by the troops of the Nicaraguan government. So the mercenary did not make a neighborhood and incendia the whole. The church was restored in 1945, but without real historical concern, which gâche a bit of architectural harmony. Come in the morning, when the sun colour the facade.

Plus modeste que l'église Mercedes mais dans le même état extérieur. Problème récurrent au Nicaragua, la conservation et l'entretien des monuments qui font défaut.
