IGLESIA DE LA MERCED
This is one of the city's most beautiful churches. Built between 1751 and 1781, it has retained its colonial Baroque façade, despite the Walker fire (the blackish marks are of course due to the flames). There are some beautiful old stained-glass windows inside. Have the doors opened so you can climb the bell tower (for a small tip, of course). Magnificent views and photos guaranteed of the tiled roofs, the Mombacho... and the church bell in the foreground. The view is much better than the one from the cathedral.
