In 1995, in Xela, Guatemala, 2 Guatemalans and an Englishman created the association to collect money from tourists for an association helping disadvantaged children. In 2004, they extended their action to Nicaragua, especially in León because of its proximity to volcanoes and its possibilities for expeditions. This organization is fully managed by volunteers. The association recovering money is called «Las Tias» and has several projects for disadvantaged children throughout Nicaragua.
