Built in 1810, it stands at the end of Calle Rubén Darío, to the east of the central market. Its vantage point is a real eye-catcher, as is its beautiful, colorful facade. Two small parks and gardens, one in front and the other to the left of the church, are perfect for a short break. The sculptures inside are crudely realistic, which is rather unusual for colonial art. The facade is a testament to the French influence in 18th-century Hispanic colonial architecture.
