TEATRO MUNICIPAL JOSÉ DE LA CRUZ MENA

Famous voices once resounded in this theater (including that of the young Darío... again!). The building was almost entirely destroyed by fire in 1956, but was declared a national cultural heritage site in 2007. It bears the name of Nicaragua's most famous musician, who died of leprosy. Today, it is one of Nicaragua's most important cultural venues, hosting top-quality performances. Consult the program on the Internet.
