Nature reserve and coffee plantations located 30 km east of Matagalpa at an altitude of 1,200 meters. Magnificent hikes or horseback rides in the cloudy rainforests on the mountainside: monkeys, butterflies and over 150 species of birds can be seen here. It's possible to take part in the coffee-making process from December to February. Finca Esperanza Verde was founded in 1998 by the Dhurman-San Ramon community of sisters, and is a community project run by American volunteers and Nicaraguan employees.
