At La Sombra, you can relax in the midst of nature, go hiking in the surrounding area, watch frogs at the ranario and butterflies at the mariposario, visit coffee plantations and strawberry and blackberry fields. It's also a good base for visiting the Macizos de Peñas Blancas nature reserve. The dormitory and rooms are pleasantly decorated in wood. There's a restaurant on site, where you can enjoy Nicaraguan dishes. It's also a good place for birdwatching, which is plentiful in the area.
