A walk for walkers who like to stay with local people, to the hamlet of San Jerónimo. It's a 15 km walk, easy at first, then steeply uphill; allow 5 hours, stopping often, in a landscape of typical dry forest cacti. In San Jerónimo (700 m above sea level), you can spend a night with local people in the relative cool of the mountains. A bus leaves this hamlet every morning for Teustepe (between 5 and 6 a.m. - you've got to wake up early!), or you can get off. Take a guide with you.
