Museum exhibiting national and international painters and a panorama of the history of Salvadoran painting.
The beautiful MARTE Museum is the work of architect Salvador Choussy. Three rooms are devoted to temporary exhibitions of national and international painters. As for the main hall, it presents a panorama of the history of Salvadoran painting through more than 300 canvases. The museum organizes numerous tours and events, the program for which can be found on the website; you can also take virtual tours!

Plusieurs d'entre eux mériteraient d’être nommés, non seulement pour la qualité de leur art mais aussi pour les reconnaissances internationales qu’ils ont eues, dont Carlos Cañas (Commandeurs des Arts et des Lettres du gouvernement français en 2012), considéré comme le précurseur de l'art abstrait au Salvador et César Menéndez (Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres du gouvernement français en 1996) dont la rétrospective est prévue au MARTE en novembre 2018.
