BICENTENNIAL PARK
Protected area in the heart of the capital offering a green space with hiking trails, bike paths and playgrounds
San Salvador's green lung is a protected area in the heart of the capital. Inaugurated in 2011, two hundred years after the first cry of independence, it is a large green space where you can relax in the midst of nature. Part of the park is open to the public, who can use the 4 kilometers of hiking trails and 3.6 kilometers of bike paths. In the past, this natural area was used to produce coffee. In the part not accessible to the public is a tropical rainforest home to endemic birds.
