Well-known 28-kilometer-long site for fishing, birdwatching, expeditions..
The 28-kilometer Jaltepeque estuary is renowned for its fishing and birdwatching. Boats can be hired to take you to the islets of El Ranchón, El Chingo and Tasajera, with their superb mangroves. It's a wonderful way to get to know a unique and warm rural coastal life. It's possible to find reasonably priced accommodation in Tasajera. If you prefer more noise and atmosphere, another boat follows a route between the islands for around 3 hours.
