The Aramuca lagoon is equipped with a tourist center offering swimming, boat trips and restaurant service. Legend has it that a huge horned snake lives in the depths of the Aramuca lagoon; another legend has it that it is impossible to cross the lagoon from one end to the other, as chunks of ice would freeze the feet of the bold in the middle (you can always try it!). Further on, 15 kilometers east of San Miguel, the Olomega lagoon is even wilder.
